Big Law Laying Claim to Blawging

Posted February 9, 2006 12:15 PM

Kevin O'Keefe has posted details on his site on the Blog Law & Blogging for Lawyers Conference which includes several interesting panel discussions and speakers from firms such as Wilson Sonsini, Davis Wright Tremaine, and McGlinchey Stafford.

Dennis Crouch of Patently-O is one of the co-chairs with Cathy Kirkman and O'Keefe is even doing a panel on blawging * (note though that he posts the title of his workshop on his blog as "Business of Blogging for Lawyers").

Next thing you know he'll change the name of the company to lexblawg (the .com domain is available).

You've outed me Kevin. It was a conscious decision for sure to use the term 'blog' after seeing that the conference flyer, which I had no part of drafting, using the term 'blawg' in referencing my presentation. As much as I do not like the term blawg and believe it serves us no good, it's still being thrown enough by those silly lawyers (just a jibe) that 'blawg' is likely to be around for a while.

And you cost me $20 today having to go out and get lexblawg.com and lexblawgs.com to head off anyone who wants to have fun with LexBlog. ;)

It would have cost much more had I registered it. I also appreciate your good natured spirit with regard to all this blawg talk.
